Rita Inge Baltutt (19 September 1936 - 11 October 2023) was born in Gilgenburg, East Prussia, Germany, and after World War II married a United States Army soldier, Earl Adams, immigrating with him to the United States. Their marriage ended in divorce, and Rita eventually married Donald Kyle. They lived in various places but eventually settled in the state of Ohio in the United States, where she lived for the rest of her life.

Edith was the mother of four children: three sons, Shawn, Donald, Scott; and a daughter, Kimberley.
